I'm a senior at
Washington University in St. Louis (Missouri) and I will be enrolling in a Ph.D. program in ecology next year. The BECC program gave me a lot of great support and really improved my campus group's effectiveness and presence on campus. We launched a petition to go carbon neutral and we got great student support and media hits.

I graduated in December from Drexel. Right now I'm working to develop a city-wide coalition of SSC groups (high school and colleges). My email is corinne@ssc.org. Working as a BECC fellow helped me to take my campaign to the next level. I learned to better use the media to my advantage and hold successful petitioning events. The program also offered great networking opportunities.

I am currently working on media and promotions for Focus the Nation at WVU. I am also planning a Morgantown Toxic Tour to connect the community with the some local forces impacting the community. The BECC program provided me with an opportunity to feel like anything was possible. The staff support was the best part of the fellowship. Motivating and knowledgeable staff help you feel like you aren't alone on your campus. The work we do as students is part of a bigger picture and by moving the conversation around the issues even a little we are making change possible.
