SSC's National Leadership Gathering - Shindig 2008

What: Shindig is the SSC's annual National Leadership Gathering. It is one of two times each year that the national leadership has an in-person meeting to discuss the goals, strategies, and direction of the organization. We use this time to prepare for the upcoming year through relevant leadership skills trainings, planning sessions, visioning exercises, and informative issue panels from guest speakers.

Shindig also offers a week-long opportunity to connect with 60-80 of the most savvy, bright, and dedicated climate activists in the country and to form and cement lasting friendships. There's a ton of work to do, but also plenty of free time in which to play a game of pickup ultimate frisbee, go hiking or just relax into great conversation. It is inspiring, rejuvinating, and an opportunity to gain perspective, reflect, and regroup for the next record-breaking year of climate victories.

Where: McKeever Environmental Learning Center, Sandy Lake, PA

When: Saturday August 3 - Saturday August 9

Who: Members of Executive Committee, Trainings Committee, and Conservation committee are required to attend. Current and aspiring leaders of the SSC (campus and community organizers, BECC fellows, recent sprog graduates) are invited. Basically, if you want to be there, you belong there. If you want an opportunity to shape the direction of the largest and most effective student environmental organization in the country, further develop your leadership skills, and have a great time doing it, please join us this summer by registering below!

Why: To gather the environmental movement's finest leaders to plan the next year of the SSC's involvement in the Campus Climate Challenge and the youth clean energy movement.
