Welcome
to the Hawaii Chapter of the Sierra Student Coalition! Hawaii joined the
SSC only three years ago, so we're a very new branch of the national network.
Nevertheless, we will still have an awesome year! My name is Eunice and
I am the new state coordinator. I will try to post upcoming events and
relevant links on this page as a resource for anyone (not just SSC members)
interested in actively preserving Hawaiiís unique environment.

on this site, please email me instead with your name, school, email and
phone #. Thanks!
Bottle Bill! Bottle Bill! Bottle Bill!
Ever
wonder what those 5 cent signs mean on your beverage bottles? Wonder no
more! Hawaii has finally joined the states that enforce Bottle Bills.
(Three cheers! Hip Hip Hooray! X2) Starting January 15, 2005, you can
recycle your bottles and get (a part of) your money back! I want to jump
start bottle recycling systems in schools all across Hawaii, but I canít
do it without your help. My plan so far is to contact agencies that will
benefit from cleaner streets (such as the tourism industry) and elicit
their help. I will be deeply grateful if anyone has any suggestions or
comments and especially if your school is interested. Again, my email
is eunice.ko@ssc.org.
