MELISSA
I am a Conservation Organizer for Sierra Club in Oakland County. I graduated from Northland College in Wisconsin (GO PACK GO!) with a BS in 2003 specializing in Environmental Studies with an emphasis in Public Policy. I now work for the Sierra Club Building Environmental Community office in Oakland County and I have access to many resources, information, and can help out in a variety of ways. For instance, if you are interested in starting a club at your school, I can help you out with that. Or if you need ideas for what issues to work on and win, I can suggest some. Or if you just need someone to talk things through or vent about a frustration with your group or school, contact me at 248-435-5277 or melissa.damaschke@sierraclub.org. P.S. Captain Planet is my hero – he’s taking pollution down to zero.

AMANDA

My name is Amanda Hightree and I am the Outreach Coordinator for the Sierra Club Mackinac Chapter and work at the main office for Michigan in Lansing. My job and pleasure is to help get you connected with the Chapter and Group volunteers and leaders. I would also be an excellent resource to assist you in finding out what the national Sierra Club is doing and put you in touch with the Staff and Volunteers at that level as well. I am going to be working this year to bridge the gap between students and the rest of Sierra Club. For questions please feel free to contact me at the information below 517-484-2372 or amanda.hightree@sierraclub.org.

Michiganders running for clean air – we made tie-dye t-shirts that had the Sierra Club logo on the front and “Running for Clean Air” on the back.
