Climate change is becoming a defining issue for our generation. Today we have the opportunity to bring solutions like wind and solar energy to our schools and communities that will clean our air, create good jobs, end our addiction to oil, and fight global warming.
Students from across the great state of Rhode Island are invited to join the Sierra Student Coalition, Brown University's emPOWER Campaign, and the URI Energy Efficiency Committee for a day-long summit and training at Brown University that will prepare you to run an effective clean energy campaign at your high school or college.
This is a great opportunity to:
* Learn more about clean energy and global warming
* Meet students working on clean energy issues across Rhode Island
* Gain skills to comfortably talk to the public about global warming
* Learn how to bring clean energy to your campus, town, or city
* Hear from political leaders in Rhode Island about what they are doing to create a clean energy future
* Find out about the national Campus Climate Challenge
* Have fun!
This training will be hosted jointly with the Sierra Club's Cool Cities Campaign, which is fighting global warming one city at a time with local clean energy solutions. This will give students the opportunity to link with city-wide campaigns across Rhode Island as well.
There is no cost to attend the summit. It will be held at Brown University in Smith Buonanno Hall, which is located on the corner of Cushing and Brown Streets. Refreshments and a vegetarian lunch will be provided.
Register today!
